Carmen is a small business owner from the northern region of Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. Thanks to your donation and the efforts of Esperanza International, she now has access to this much needed service. Dental care in the Dominican Republic is a luxury and is not feasible for the average resident. Once an individual starts taking out loans with Esperanza, they and their family have access to these types of services. Without your kind donation, Juan, this would not have been possible.

Kandace, your donation provided Miguelina with a cavity prevention program, something that she is extremely grateful for.

When our clients begin receiving loans, they also have access to certain health care and educational services. Esperanza believes that the root causes of poverty go much deeper than the lack of capital. By attending to needs with a holistic perspective Esperanza is enabling their associates to realize their own potential.

There are far too many children who are never given the opportunity of receiving an education because they do not have access to one, or they are forced to assist their families by working at a very young age. Tu Hogar Cristiano is a school that tries to make it possible for all Dominican children in their community to receive an education, and an affordable one at that. Everyday, Eliseo travels distances of up to an hour to conduct a bank meeting. Here he not only collects the loan capital, but has a time for devotion, reflection, health promotion, and business training.
