Smiling With A Sound Mind

SFL Sept 2011 108

Dear Johanna,

Jose Luis shows us his new clean teeth and couldn’t be happier!

Jose is married to an associate of Esperanza, and after his wife took out a loan his life was completely changed for the better. Jose’s wife took out a microloan to invest in her small business and can now use her newly acquired capital to buy her merchandise in bulk. She no longer has to travel back and forth to Puerto Plata in order to buy her merchandise, and can use the money she would have used in transportation in improving her business. The couple lives in a small community called Baja Bonico which is about an hour outside of Puerto Plata, which makes traveling to and from extremely costly.

Jose and his wife also now have access to education and health care services such as this one. Today Jose Luis received a cavity prevention program and claims he is eternally grateful for your donation, Johanna, and wants us to tell you “Gracias!”
