Nuna wants to say thank you for your priceless donation! Nuna is 40 years old and lives in Samana, Dominican Republic with her two children.  She currently sells balloon decorations on the side of the road.

She has been an associate of Esperanza for one year now, but this is her first time taking advantage of the cavity prevention program that Esperanza provides. Thanks to your donation, she is able to teach her children how to brush properly!

Carlina is 11 years old and lives near the town of Samana in the Dominican Republic. Carlina loves math and Spanish classes, and hopes to one day become a lawyer. It is important that her teeth are healthy so she can focus on school which she loves so much.

Locati is 6 years old and lives with her 8 brothers and sisters in a town near Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Locati wanted to join a class to learn more about the importance of caring for her teeth.

Recently Locati was blinded in one eye by a wood chip, and is now learning how to conquer life with a new perspective.

Thanks to your donation Emer, Locati learned how to brush properly, and claims that she never knew it was necessary to brush her tongue as well!

Yanira  is originally from Haiti, but has come to the Dominican Republic in search of a better life for herself and her family. She has 2 children and supports them by selling food from her home. Yanira can now be sure she is cancer free thanks to your donation Hiedi.

Your donation has provided Yanira with the knowledge of the importance of the exam, as well as the exam itself. It has also paid for the doctor to travel to Yanira’s small community and administer the exam, as well as analyze its results. Thank you so much for your donation Hiedi. Monette is 42 years old and has never had a Pap exam.  Because of your donation Pam, our doctor will travel to her rural community to administer the exam. Monette was unaware that a Pap exam tests for internal complications that she may be unaware of until the topic was addressed at an Esperanza bank meeting. Monette will now have the opportunity to make sure she is cervical cancer free. As a mother of 5, it is essential that Monette stay healthy for her children. Your donation Pam has provided Monette with the knowledge that will not only help herself and her family, but members of her community as well. Your donation has provided Monette with the preventative care she needs to continue being a healthy role model to her children. Thank you Pam!

Jessenia is a bubbly 11 year old student at Tu Hogar Cristiano in San Pedro, Dominican Republic. Because of your gracious donation, Jessenia is now in her 4th year! Jessenia absolutely loves that she has been blessed with the opportunity to receive an education, and has high hopes for her future. Jessenia lives with her mother in a small house located close to school.

Jessenia thoroughly enjoys math and reading, and she dreams of one day attending the University of San Pedro with aspirations of becoming an Architect.  Jessenia enthusiastically states “I want to be a professional one day,” and because of your selfless donation Robert, she is one step closer to making this dream a reality.

Thanks to the donation made by Anne, Josh, Josiah and Isaiah, Carmen was able to receive her very first Pap exam! Once she was informed of the importance of detecting cervical cancer before it begins, she promised to repeat the exam every year.

Carmen used the micro loan she took out with Esperanza to sell food in her small community of La Romana, Dominican Republic. She uses the money that she makes to support herself and her 2 children. Carmen wants to continue health screenings to assure she stays healthy for the sake of her children. Thanks to your donation, Carmen is now sure that she can do this. Berta is an associate of Esperanza who makes her home with her 6 children outside of La Romana, Dominican Republic. Berta has used her mico loan to open a paleteria, which is a small corner store where she sells various food items, candy, beverages, etc.  Berta has not had a Pap exam for several years because she lacks the necessary funds and it had simply never been accessible. That is, until your donation Scott!

Because of your donation, Berta was able to receive this essential exam. She is now feeling more confident knowing that she is cancer free. Berta is 48 years old, and knows that her health is very important. She knows she needs to be healthy so she can care for her 6 children, and make sure they grow up healthy and strong. Scott, Berta wants to thank you sincerely for your donation and for allowing her to take care of her health!

Violeta now gets to have the first Pap exam of her life thanks to your donation! Violeta is 30 years old with 4 children and always assumed that because she felt fine, that she was fine. Until she was provided with the knowledge of the importance of a Pap exam, she was unaware that there may be problems she cannot physically detect.
