Every day Rosie Maria walks the streets of her community selling new and used clothing, shoes, as well as cosmetics; basically a little bit of everything in order to support herself and her 4 children. Rosie lives in an area of la Romana, Dominican Republic called Pica Pierda, and moved there from Port-au-Prince, Haiti 4 years ago.
After hearing about Esperanza through some of her community members, Rosie decided to take out a loan with Esperanza. She states that she now is able to buy and sell more merchandise which gives her and her family more financial stability. Not only is she more financially sound, but Rosie and her family now have access to health care and the opportunity of receiving an education.
Because of your donation of $25, Rosie was able to receive a health exam for the very first time. It is recommended that women receive the exam annually, but until today Rosie did not have access to the exam, or the knowledge of its importance. Thank you so much for your donation Sarah, Rosie can now get the health care that she deserves!
